The Process of Translating the Play 'Tierra pisada, por donde se anda, camino'
Abstract
The author of this article was hired to translate a play. In principle, it should have been easy, but the work gradually revealed an incredible underlying poetic level, which led the translator to understand the uniqueness of literary works. Throughout the article, the translator describes his own situation: he considered himself to be an experienced technical translator, but it was not until he undertook the translation of this literary text that he realized that his usual resources were insufficient for the task. The translation ultimately turned out well thanks to the collaboration of Julia Marin. The article presents the fruitful discussions that occurred throughout the process, and the reader will also find examples of various complex passages.
