On the translation of the poetry anthology 'Corramos libres ahora' [Let Us Now Run Free]

Abstract

This article seeks to illustrate the process of translation of the collection of poetry entitled Corramos libres ahora [Let Us Now Run Free] by Mexican author Rosamaría Roffiel. It begins by explaining the general context of the work and the author, in order to present the most relevant circumstances of the text. Next, it reflects on some of the greatest difficulties in translating these poems, and their solutions, to provide a general image of the challenges faced by the translator. Finally, it exemplifies these problems and solutions with an excerpt from the translation.
