Choronyms of the Basque Country, lexical-semantic interference and the praxis of the translator
This article analyzes Basque choronyms and demonyms and demonstrates that their translation into Basque is fraught with confusion due to lexical-semantic interference from neighboring hegemonic languages. Focusing on case studies of informative history texts and Wikimedia projects, specific proposals are made to name the western regions of the Basque Country during different periods.
