Inma Errea, a journalist in translation (and many other things)
The interviewer has crossed paths at least three times with Inma Errea (Iruñea, 1960). First, at the University of Navarra, where they were classmates in the Faculty of Journalism. Second, at Euskal Telebista (Basque Television), where both worked as street reporters. And third, in translation, in different but closely related organizations. What is a journalist doing in the profession of translation? Well, it should not seem very strange to anyone who thinks of translation as “a type of communication.” No longer a journalist or a translator but always a communicator, Inma Errea has joined the eternal struggle, now against enemies fiercer than a foreign syntax and vocabulary, in her position working for the City Council of Pamplona as head of the Basque Language Service.
