Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the translator’s notes in three Basque literary translations
The translator’s notes can be a tool that allows the translator to emerge from his or her usual invisibility and anonymity. Various studies have been carried out in the wider world on this topic but, to the best of our knowledge, no such work has yet been done in the field of Basque translation. In this work, we take an exploratory look at notes in Basque. For this purpose, we first provide theoretical explanations of the notes, and then carry out a quantitative and qualitative analysis of three Basque translations (The Blood of Others, The Garden of the Finzi-Continis, and Robinson Crusoe).
