Terminological management and optimization of the process of specialized translation: applications in computer security
María José Pinilla Machado

Abstract

The present article focuses on the analysis and translation of a specific type of scientific/technical text: texts that specialize in computer security. This type of text is a prime example of how translation and terminology are areas of knowledge that are closely related, and of how the latter can completely change the translation process and the quality of the final result. The analysis and translation of the selected corpus were carried out exhaustively in this three-year research project. The selected corpus for translation and analysis consists of the five most important chapters of a computer security reference manual.
