Terminology in linguistic management

Abstract
Going beyond a polyhedral vision of terminology, according to which both the user of terminological works and the terminologist himself or the Public Administration (for which terminology is a powerful instrument in implementing linguistic policy) identify distinct problems in the field of terminology, one could argue that, after the development of Basque in recent decades, it is now time to dedicate greater effort to studying the keys to the success or failure of the terminological work carried out to date, instead of limiting ourselves exclusively to continuing to propose new terms. Discovering the extent to which speakers do or do not make use of the terminology proposed by the linguistic authorities is a not insignificant element of reflection necessary in order to achieve greater levels of terminological implantation in the future. Furthermore, today there exist automated means of terminological implantation, such as the TEIS (Information System for Terminological Implantation) system that was developed for this purpose by UZEI, the Basque Center for Terminology and Lexicography.
