The Public Translation Memory Bank
The Vice-Ministry of Linguistic Policy of the Basque Government will soon launch a Public Translation Memory Bank. This application, which is organized into two branches, Internet (open to any user; in addition to allowing the user to make inquiries and export data, this will also provide the Bank with its own memories and documents) and Intranet (for the management and administration of the Bank), will be an important tool for translation, as well as a useful instrument for the development of applications in the field of Information and Communication Technologies. As time goes on, this will lead to the development of a significant bilingual parallel corpus accessible to any person or entity that needs it. This article presents the general specifications of the Bank.
