Interview with Jost Gippert, ambassador of the Basque language in Germany

An interview with Jost Gippert, Head of the Department of Comparative Linguistics of the University of Frankfurt and Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Tiflis (Georgia). He has analyzed and compared numerous languages of the world and has also examined diverse cultural topics: ancient legends, local calendars and dances, customs, games and beliefs. He was a pioneer in digitalization in the field of Comparative Linguistics and creator in the 1980s of the Titus database. He has championed the presence of the Basque language at the University of Frankfurt, where there is now an Assistantship in Basque in collaboration with the Etxepare Institute.
