The essay in Basque translation: an in-depth study
Summary
As the title suggests, this work is an in-depth study of the translation of essays into Basque. We conducted a quantitative analysis of the essays translated into Basque from the first translated work of the 20th century to 2019, looking at a number of different criteria and factors. We aimed to analyze not only the evolution and characteristics of this practice, but also the content; that is, the origin, time period and authorship of the original works. We also examined the different modalities put into practice. In this way, we have determined what activity there has been in the translation of essays into Basque, and what the present state of this activity is.
