In memoriam: Xalbador Garmendia, Euxebe Portugal and Maritxu Urreta
Abstract
In this issue, the Association of Translators, Correctors and Interpreters of the Basque Language (EIZIE) pays homage to three of its members who died since the previous issue was published. Xalbador Garmendia (1932-2018), Euxebe Portugal (1956-2019), and Maritxu Urreta (1915-2018) can be considered representatives of nearly three generations that have been active in recent years in various fields of the profession. Maritxu and Xalbador were honorary members of the EIZIE, and all three were recognized on their merit and enjoyed great prestige in the translation community.
