Taligner: a software to create multilingual translation corpora
Abstract
The Taligner software was developed by a research team from the translation section at the University of the Basque Country in collaboration with IT expert Iñaki Albisua, with the aim of compiling and analyzing multilingual translation corpora. It has been used in several research projects and has been further developed thanks to those projects. It provides capabilities for tagging and aligning narrative and drama texts so that the compiled corpora may be analyzed using a search engine. Furthermore, the software makes it possible to manage different corpora simultaneously. With respect to text analysis, Taligner is currently able to produce term extractions of the texts, counting the frequency of each word.
