The 'Itzulsortzaile' workshop, or how to combine advertising and translation in Basque

This article is composed of the many thoughts and feelings elicited in the author by her participation in the Itzulsortzaile workshop on the translation into Basque and creation in Basque of advertising, including her reflections on the motives that led her to participate in the workshop. It is not a detailed or objective chronicle of the workshop, but rather an attempt to reflect on the themes that were discussed at the workshop and on what she learned there. It also serves as a point of departure or an invitation to continue reflecting on the challenge posed, in Basque, by creation and translation for the purpose of advertising, and on the changes – both in perspective and in ways of proceeding – that these activities entail.
