The complete works of Teresa of Avila translated into Basque
Abstract
This year, as we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the birth of Teresa Cepeda y Ahumada (Saint Teresa of Avila), Carmelite translator Luis Baraiazarra Txertudi is translating Teresa's complete works into Basque. The article provides biographical, literary and translation details about Teresa of Avila. The Carmelites believe that the publication of these works in modern Unified Basque will be an important contribution to the Basque language and culture.
