Joxan Ormazabal and translation
Abstract
We have lost Joxan Ormazabal, and with this loss we have missed out on an author of children's and young adults' literature, as well as an exceptional translator in this field.
The translation of books, albums, puzzle books, social and natural science text books, small books on nature and animals, comics... answers for his work. He translated more than four hundred works in total.
The concern of Joxan Ormazabal for the use of a communicative language and a Basque language close to the spoken register was permanent. His motto was: a precise translation but with body and soul.
Now that you have left us, we miss you more than ever, Joxan.
