Klaus Rifbjerg (1931- ) is one of the most representative and well-known authors of post-war Danish literature. A highly prolific and versatile writer, his published works include volumes of poetry, novels, essays, and many articles. For decades, he has been a supremely central figure in cultural debate in Denmark. 70 Epiphanies is a volume of prose poetry written on the occasion of the author's 70th birthday, and in which «energy and humor are key concepts, as are the humble awareness of how ephemeral everything is and one's artistic duty to accept what destiny offers.»
