Translation today and tomorrow
This is a report on a round table that took place in Pamplona in October of 2024. Organized by the Editargi Association of Independent Publishers of Navarre, the discussion, entitled “Future translation: three voices from beyond the dictionary,” was held in the meeting room of the Laba Association, and translators Eider Beobide, Aitor Blanco and Ainhoa Mendiluze took part. Each spoke from their own perspective, but all three focused on various aspects of Basque literary translation and, as they are all of similar age – under 35 –their words reflect the vision of a generation of translators.
