Aritz Galarraga Lopetegi

Abstract

This article makes a diagnosis of literature translated into Catalan. After contextualizing the sociolinguistic situation of the territories in which Catalan is spoken, the present situation of literature translated into Catalan is analyzed, including the problems it has, the potentialities it may have, and how translated literature is received in general within the Catalan literary system, supported by reports and articles by experts who have studied the topic. At the end of the article, Basque literature translated into Catalan is briefly acknowledged.
