Garazi Biain Garmendia

Summary

This article invites us to move away from the rigidity of academia and delve into the maternal experiences of female freelance translators and interpreters. The author takes the reader back to the 1990s and 2000s, based on her feelings and thoughts while pregnant in the year 2023, to recount the experiences of those who were mothers then and compare them with her own today. According to the testimonies gathered, conditions are better today, but freelance translators and interpreters who are mothers have long demonstrated the ability to combine children with the profession they value so highly.
