Summary

When the pandemic brought the entire world to a halt, all in-person meetings and conferences that used interpretation services were also suspended. In response to this new situation, many organizers began to use remote interpretation. In this article, we examine this interpretation format, with particular attention to the main characteristics and shortcomings of interpretation platforms, the importance of sound quality and the consequences of poor sound. We also consider the panorama provided by artificial intelligence applied to machine interpretation.
