Translation versus creation
Francesc Parcerisas

Abstract

It may seem obvious to state that, according to a number of circumstances, a text may be translated in different ways. This fact often leads both translators and translation theorists to analyse the dichotomy holding between translation and creation. This article provides different cases and aspects of faithful accuracy on the one hand and of recreation on the other, thereby providing its author with a framework to propose his own views on the matter.
