4-10 July 2004
British Centre for Literary Translation

Norwich, UK

The fifth international BCLT summer school for translators, writers, publishers and other literary professionals.

Introduction

Spend a week translating fiction or poetry from a variety of languages including Basque, English, German, Spanish, French and Italian. Round tables, readings, and seminars supplement the daily workshops where participants work with translators and a writer on the translation of a short text. New language options for 2004 include workshops from Arabic, and an English-Lithuanian workshop.

Participants are welcome to work in any language combination. Further formal workshops may be arranged if there is sufficient interest . Where a formal workshop is not available, translators are welcome to work with writers on a one-to-one basis.

Fees

Fees are 595 GBP (896,3 EUR) including full board in single ensuite rooms and all tuition costs. Special rates for non-residential students, day rates and UEA staff and students. A limited number of part bursaries are available for students who are unable to pay the full fee.
