Submission now open for the 2026 "Etxepare - LABORAL Kutxa Translation Prize"

Through this call, a prize will be awarded for the translation of a literary work originally written in Basque and published in 2025.

The Etxepare - LABORAL Kutxa Translation Award aims to recognise the work of translators and publishers who help bring Basque-language literature to new readers and expand its presence across other languages, publishing markets and cultural contexts, highlighting their contribution to the international circulation of Basque literature.

• Award: €6,000
• Up to €3,000 for promotion activities.
• Literary works originally written in Basque that were translated and published in other languages in 2025 may be submitted.
• The quality of the translation itself and the publisher’s promotional strategy will both be taken into consideration.
• Translations supported through the AT! Itzulpena: literatura call will automatically be eligible for the award.
