NordaNor- Basque translation database
What is Nor da Nor?
Information is arranged around two main areas:
Translators
At the moment, the database includes information about translators, interpreters, and proofreaders:
- Literary translators. Names of the translators who have translated from and into Basque, and full references to the works they have translated.
- Freelance translators/interpreters/proofreaders. Detailed data from the translators, interpreters, and correctors who are EIZIE members: their work fields, language combinations... There is also an option to contact directly with these professionals.
- Short bibliographies of translators, interpreters, and proofreaders. This section is still not complete, but about 180 bio-bibliographies are already available.
Translations
For the moment, the database gather literary translations only:
- Literature for children, teens and adults.
- Translated from and into Basque.
- Translations published on paper and released only digitally.
- Whole books (except monographies), and also translations published in magazines, networks and compilation books (poems, stories, passages).
In addition to the bibliographic data of these translations, the database provides access to the texts (in the cases they are available online), as well as their rewievs if such have been published.
The search interface allows combining multiple search criteria, including obtaining translator's information from works, and vice versa.
