Celebrating our translation journal SENEZ
Celebrations will start on the International Translation Day
This year, EIZIE will celebrate International Translation Day by organising a press conference in San Sebastian, to present the recently published 50th issue of our journal SENEZ and celebrate its 35th anniversary.
Itziar Diez de Ultzurrun - president of EIZIE - and Karlos del Olmo - editor of the journal - presented the last issue of the magazine, and also described its long and fertile history (since 1984). They talked about the importance of having a translation journal in Basque, written by and for translators; the importance of this publication transcends the field of translation, as it is a great tool for language normalization, and a useful platform for research in Basque. The history of both EIZIE and translation in Basque can be found in the journal’s pages.
Celebrations will continue at a public event on October 16th, at the Sala Club of the Victoria Eugenia Theatre in San Sebastian. We have invited several people to share their reflections on different topics, in order to develop a polyhedral look around SENEZ. They will participate both live and through a video prepared for the event itself, and we will also have live music.
