Support for literary translation from Basque into other languages

Etxepare Euskal Institutua is offering several calls for grants, including the yearly call for literary translations from Basque into other languages.

These grants will help local and foreign translators and publishing houses cover expenses for translating works written originally in Basque into other languages. The call is open until July 5.

This grant regime will support three kinds of translations:

  • Translations into other languages of literary works written and published originally in Basque.
  • Translations into other languages of short literary works (under 25,000 characters) written and published originally in Basque; these will serve as proposals for future translations.
  • Translations into languages other than Basque of literary works originally written and published in Spanish by authors registered in the Basque Autonomous Community.
